“MK” is hosting the most spectacular South African music festival, imaginable, at the Vaal Dam over the long weekend, 27-29th April 2012.  Friday, 27th April, is “Freedom Day”, followed by another public holiday on Tuesday, 1st May being “Workers Day”.  This is to be an annual event at the Vaal Dam during April of each year from now on.
 


33 of SA’s best performing artists, all familiar to MK viewers, will give it all, entertaining an estimated crowd of 30 000 loyal fans and supporters, over a period of 3 days.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 till late.  Gates open at 10:00 daily.
The venue is excellent and perfect for this event.  Extreme beauty, with a natural slope down to the water’s edge.  A massive stage with amazing sound and lighting will create an awesome atmosphere for a spectacular show.  Just over an hour’s drive from Johannesburg and right in the heart of SA music territory, you gotta believe this is going to be a weekend to remember.


The camping facilities are great, for the weekend package, with professional ablutions and showers.  The event area, with excellent food stalls, booze facilities, a craft market and lots of other activities offer day trippers a stunning experience.  Some of the booze brands are bringing their rigs with special themes and loads of giveaways.  
Music is what it is all about, but for those who want to do something different in between, there will be jet ski and quad bike rides, sailing, para-sailing, wakeboarding, fishing and many other activities.
